Approximately eighteen kilometers from Alto Paraíso, the Rio Caldeira brings together waterfalls and erosion forms that let you see the layers of the rock. Caracol is one of the landmarks, with reliefs carved into fine-grained metamorphosed material. Pedrão and Walkírias I and II round out the featured names.
The suggested walk is under two kilometers, but the difficulty is concentrated in the final fifty meters: a steep stretch climbed by a metal ladder, requiring safety gear such as a harness, depending on the route. Here, a short distance does not mean an easy outing.
